What Ofsted say....
Staff who work with babies are caring and responsive. Babies have secure attachments and make good progress in their personal, social and emotional development.
Staff help older children develop the skills they need for their eventual move on to school. Children are confident to recognise the letters of their name and write short words accurately. They develop good mathematical skills and can count past 20.
Children have good levels of independence and develop good self-esteem. Staff use praise consistently and encourage children to develop confidence in their own ability.
Staff have developed effective relationships with other settings children attend, such as school. They regularly work together to share information about children's specific learning needs and promote continuity.
The management team has worked hard to develop staff's skills in the observation and assessment of children's progress. This helps them to identify areas of slower progress and they support staff's professional development.
Children are working in the stages of development typically expected for their age. Children who have areas of slower progress are identified and benefit form focused teaching to close gaps in their learning. Overall, children are keen, interested learners and show enthusiasm in activities. They are well-prepared for the next stages in their learning, such as their eventual move on to school.
